Lew is organizing a trip for roughly 6 students to do service work at a free optical and dental clinic in Chihuahua, Mexico (about 200 miles due west of El Paso). The clinic has been in operation for about 30 years and has active support from the Houston Rotary Club. This will be a very valuable experience, in terms of exposure to a new culture and to give the students the opportunity to deliver direct services to the population of indigenous people in the area.

Students would be invited via a selection process, since, at the last Interact meeting, about 18 Interact members were interested. The trip would be scheduled for late June 2016, with Lew and Lourdes chaperoning. The club will pay for part of the students' costs.
