Last Saturday, on November 27, Joe F. met with Amy-Jo Silverman from the Rockland-Hanson Rotary Club to go over the grant application process in general, and to review a specific project proposal . The current goal of the project is to provide school materials to an elementary school in the Philippines. Collaborating on this grant submission with the Rockland-Hanson Rotary Club and the Naga City Rotary Club in the Philippines (as the host club) allowed us an opportunity to learn about working cooperatively with other Clubs to obtain District grant funding and to initiate an international project.

The proposal was due today (12/1/10), so Joe and Amy-Jo had to work quickly to complete the submission. Although we do yet know the results of our application, they appear to be promising. As there was no time to hold a Board meeting before the application deadline, Lew gave authority to commit our Club to a limited fiscal degree to the project. We look forward to the evolution of this exciting opportunity!
